THUMBSCREW n. 2 definitions
A screw having a flat-sided or knurled head, so that it may be turned by the thumb and forefinger.
TRACTOR SCREW; TRACTOR PROPELLER n.
A propeller screw placed in front of the supporting planes of an aëroplane instead of behind them, so that it exerts a pull instead of a push. Hence, Tractor monoplane, Tractor biplane, etc.
