An inhabitant of Wallachia; also, the language of the Wallachians; Roumanian.
CATAWBAS n.
; sing. Catawba. (Ethnol.) An appalachian tribe of Indians which originally inhabited the regions near the Catawba river and the head waters of the Santee.
