PAD n.
ushion for writing upon, or for blotting; esp., one formed of many flat sheets of writing paper, or layers of blotting paper; a block of paper.
PAMPHLET n.
A small book consisting of a few sheets of printed paper, stitched together, often with a paper cover, but not bound; a short essay or written discussion, usually on a subject of current interest.
PAPETERIE n.
A case or box containing paper and materials for writing.
PAPIER-MACHE n.
A hard and strong substance made of a pulp from paper, mixed with sise or glue, etc. It is formed into various articles, usually by means of molds.
PAPILLOTE n.
a small piece of paper on which women roll up their hair to make it curl; a curl paper.
PAPYRACEOUS a.
Made of papyrus; of the consistency of paper; papery.

Of or pertaining to papyrus, or to paper; papyraceous.

Imitation parchment, made by soaking unsized paper in dilute sulphuric acid.
PAPYROGRAPH n.
An apparatus for multiplying writings, drawings, etc., in which a paper stencil, formed by writing or drawing with corrosive ink, is used. The word is also used of other means of multiplying copies of writings, drawings, etc. See Copygraph, Hectograph, Manifold.

PARCHMENT n.
The envelope of the coffee grains, inside the pulp. Parchment paper. See Papyrine.
PASTE n.
ind of cement made of flour and water, starch and water, or the like, -- used for uniting paper or other substances, as in bookbinding, etc., -- also used in calico printing as a vehicle for mordant or color.
PASTEBOARD n.
A stiff thick kind of paper board, formed of several single sheets pasted one upon another, or of paper macerated and pressed into molds, etc.
PASTER n.
A slip of paper, usually bearing a name, intended to be pasted by the voter, as a substitute, over another name on a printed ballot. [Cant, U.S.]
PATTERN n.
Figure or style of decoration; design; as, wall paper of a beautiful pattern.
PEEL n.
en; also, a T-shaped implement used by printers and bookbinders for hanging wet sheets of paper on lines or poles to dry. Also, the blade of an oar.
PELURE n.
A crisp, hard, thin paper, sometimes used for postage stamps.

PERFECT v.
ies. Locke. Perfecting press (Print.), a press in which the printing on both sides of the paper is completed in one passage through the machine.

raphy; as, to photograph a view; to photograph a group. He makes his pen drawing on white paper, and they are afterwards photographed on wood. Hamerton.
