THEORY n.
of things, which terminates in speculation or contemplation, without a view to practice; hypothesis; speculation.
THESIS n.
An affirmation, or distinction from a supposition or hypothesis.

The hypothetical radical C4H3S, regarded as the essential residue of thiophene and certain of its derivatives.
