PORTAGE GROUP n.
A subdivision of the Chemung period in American geology. See Chart of Geology.
POSTEXILIAN; POSTEXILIC a.
belonging to a period subsequent to the Babylonian captivity or exile (b. c. 597 or about 586-about 537).
POSTGLACIAL a.
Formed or occurring after the last glacial epoch of the Pleistocene period, or at a locality within the area of Pleistocene glaciation after the final disappearance of the glacier from the locality.
