METASTERNUM n.
The most posterior element of the sternum; the ensiform process; xiphisternum.
METENSOMATOSIS n.
The assimilation by one body or organism of the elements of another.
METHIDE n.
A binary compound of methyl with some element; as, aluminium methide, Al2(CH3)6.
MICROCRITH n.
le, or of the hydrogen atom, taken as the standard in comparing the atomic weights of the elements; thus, an atom of oxygen weighs sixteen microcriths. See Crith. J. P. Cooke.
MICROCYTE n.
One of the elementary granules found in blood. They are much smaller than an ordinary corpuscle, and are particularly noticeable in disease, as in anæmia.
MINERALIZATION n.
The process of mineralizing, or forming a mineral by combination of a metal with another element; also, the process of converting into a mineral, as a bone or a plant.
MINERALIZER n.
An element which is combined with a metal, thus forming an ore. Thus, in galena, or lead ore, sulphur is a mineralizer; in hematite, oxygen is a mineralizer.
MOLYBDENUM n.
A rare element of the chromium group, occurring in nature in the minerals molybdenite and wulfenite, and when reduced obtained as a hard, silver-white, difficulty fusible metal. Symbol Mo. Atomic weight 95.9.

rtaining to, or containing, molybdenum; specif., designating those compounds in which the element has a higher valence, as contrasted with molybdous compounds; as, molybdic oxide.
