PALUSTRINE a.
Of, pertaining to, or living in, a marsh or swamp; marshy.

PHALANGER n.
Any marsupial belonging to Phalangista, Cuscus, Petaurus, and other genera of the family Phalangistidæ. They are arboreal, and the species of Petaurus are furnished with lateral parachutes. See Flying phalanger, under Flying.
PHALANGIST n.
Any arboreal marsupial of the genus Phalangista. The vulpine phalangist (P. vulpina) is the largest species, the full grown male being about two and a half feet long. It has a large bushy tail.
PHASCOLOME n.
A marsupial of the genus Phascolomys; a wombat.
PHILIPPIUM n.
A rare and doubtful metallic element said to have been discovered in the mineral samarskite.
PHRYGIAN a.
and vehement in style; -- so called because fabled to have been invented by the Phrygian Marsyas. Moore (Encyc. of Music). -- Phrygian stone, a light, spongy stone, resembling a pumice, -- used by the ancients in dyeing, and said to be drying and astringent.
PHYLLOPHAGAN n.
One of a group of marsupials including the phalangists.
PIONED a.
A Shakespearean word of disputed meaning; perh., "abounding in marsh marigolds." Thy banks with pioned and twilled brims. Shak.
PIPEWORT n.
Any plant of a genus (Eriocaulon) of aquatic or marsh herbs with soft grass-like leaves.
