MONO-; MON- n.
nd contains one atom, radical, or group of that to the name of which it is united; as, monoxide, monosulphide, monatomic, etc.
MONOSULPHIDE n.
A sulphide containing one atom of sulphur, and analogous to a monoxide; -- contrasted with a Ant: polysulphide; as, galena is a monosulphide.
