QUIET v. 2 definitions
To stop motion in; to still; to reduce to a state of rest, or of silence.
QUIETLY adv.
Noiselessly; silently; without remark or violent movement; in a manner to attract little or no observation; as, he quietly left the room.
QUIETUS n.
Final discharge or acquittance, as from debt or obligation; that which silences claims; (Fig.) rest; death. When he himself might his quietus make With a bare bodkin. Shak.
