RHACHIODONT a.
Having gular teeth formed by a peculiar modification of the inferior spines of some of the vertebræ, as certain South African snakes (Dasypelits) which swallow birds' eggs and use these gular teeth to crush them.

A reptile whose teeth are rooted in sockets, as the crocodile.

A genus of fossil whales belonging to the Phocodontia; -- so called because their are serrated, like a shark's.
