LIANE; LIANA n.
A luxuriant woody plant, climbing high trees and having ropelike stems. The grapevine often has the habit of a liane. Lianes are abundant in the forests of the Amazon region.

The refuse matter which remains after the pressure of fruit, particularly of grapes.

One of the solid parts of a battlemented parapet; a battlement. See Illust. of Battlement.
MOURNING n.
Garb, drapery, or emblems indicative of grief, esp. clothing or a badge of somber black. The houses to their tops with black were spread, And ev'n the pavements were with mourning hid. Dryden. Deep mourning. See under Deep.

MUSCADINE n. 2 definitions
A name given to several very different kinds of grapes, but in America used chiefly for the scuppernong, or southern fox grape, which is said to be the parent stock of the Catawba. See Grapevine.
