ODONTOPHORE n.
A special structure found in the mouth of most mollusks, except bivalves. It consists of several muscles and a cartilage which supports a chitinous radula, or lingual ribbon, armed with teeth. Also applied to the radula alone. See Radula.
OOTHECA; OOETHECA n.
An egg case, especially those of many kinds of mollusks, and of some insects, as the cockroach. Cf. Ooecium.

Producing an operculum; -- said of the foot, or part of the foot, of certain mollusks.
OPISTHOBRANCHIA; OPISTHOBRANCHIATA n.
A division of gastropod Mollusca, in which the breathing organs are usually situated behind the heart. It includes the tectibranchs and nudibranchs.
OPISTHOPULMONATE a.
Having the pulmonary sac situated posteriorly; -- said of certain air-breathing Mollusca.
OSPHRADIUM n.
The olfactory organ of some Mollusca. It is connected with the organ of respiration.
