ANCILLARY a.
Subservient or subordinate, like a handmaid; auxiliary. The Convocation of York seems to have been always considered as inferior, and even ancillary, to the greater province. Hallam.

An administration subordinate to, and in aid of, the primary or principal administration of an estate.

To heat, as glass, tiles, or earthenware, in order to fix the colors laid on them.

The day on which Mass is said yearly for the soul of a deceased person; the commemoration of some sacred event, as the dedication of a church or the consecration of a pope.

A Mass for a deceased person or for some special object, said daily for a year or on the anniversary day.
