Discuss Isaiah 41

Our Lord JESUS said: Mat.13:30-> In the time of harvest I will say to the reapers,Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.

Do ye not know that the saints shall Judge the world?and if the world shall be Judged by you,are ye unworthy to Judge the smallest matters?Know ye not that we shall Judge angels?(angels of the Churches) 1Corinthians 6:2-3.

By the way, JESUS said more: John 4:36-37:->36 He that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together. 37 And herein is that saying true,One soweth(JESUS sowed),and another reapeth.

And Daniel prophesied:Dan.7:22&27: ->22Judgment was (will be)given to the saints of the most High; and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom( Revelation 11:15-18. Take a look.). 27 And the Kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdoms under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose Kingdom is an everlasting Kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him.

    Daniel 2:44-47

44And in the days of these kings shall the GOD of heaven set up a Kingdom( Revelation 11:15-18), which shall never be destroyed: and the Kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.

45Forasmuch as thou sawest that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it brake in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold;the great GOD hath made known to the king what shall come to pass hereafter:and the dream is certain, and the interpretation thereof sure.

46Then the king Nebuchadnezzar fell upon his face...Of a truth it is, that your GOD is a GOD of gods( Psalms 82:1-2&6-8 and John 10:34-36 combined with Isaiah 41:22-23),and a Lord of kings, and a revealer of secrets, seeing thou couldest reveal this secret.

    The Word is GOD,self-executing, understand?

    Sister Gigi:

    I have never said we are gods;

    I QUOTED what GOD said:

    Psalms 82:6

    Isaiah 41:23

    John 10:34

The scriptures are Christ's WORDS, not mine.

I'm sorry you don't believe what Christ says.

But Christ SAID, men would believe the words of other men, before they would believe his words, and his words WILL NOT return unto him VOID, but will accomplish that which I please.

    Isaiah 55:11

    God Bless YOU!

Adam and Eve were the only two created in God's image after that man became a mom and dad creation as we have the power to create, to know good and evil, etc.

Isaiah 41:22] Let them bring them forth, and shew us what shall happen: let them shew the former things, what they be, that we may consider them, and know the latter end of them; or declare us things for to come.

[23] Shew the things that are to come hereafter, that we may know that ye are gods: yea, do good, or do evil, that we may be dismayed, and behold it together.

After the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ, we are to be the image of the Son of God for us to be in God's image once again.

Romans 8:29] For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

[30] Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.

If I am conformed to the image of the Son of God I sure am not going to be conformed to the image of sin to the image of the devil as all sin is of the devil period 1st John 3:8. No such verse as we sin because we are of God or Jesus. Mankind thinks we are all made in God's image. False!!! Only those who come to his Son Jesus Christ and his words of spirit and life in John 6:63 can mankind be conformed to the image of God. 100% conditional love all the way. A free gift, with conditions. We have to walk in the spirit of the words and not in the spirit of the world. The things which are seen are only temporal, however, the things not seen are eternal. The rich man in hell didn't see that coming in Luke 16. A rich and powerful person in his day and he could not spend a dime of it in hell.

Hello Rjgil4769. There are many portions in the Bible, where we find that God promises to protect His people Israel. However, Israel, in their often disobedience & idolatry suffered much under God's Hand & were punished & given into the hands of their enemies. Yet, God's harsh dealings with them were to bring them back to Him, that they would reject all other gods & cleave only to Him. But suffer they did, but how long will it take for Israel to realize that they still spurn God's Love by rejecting Him & His Messiah Who came to redeem them? For this, Israel still suffers & will continue to do so until their eyes are opened & they shall see Him come in the clouds, "they also which pierced Him" ( Revelation 1:7)

Here are some Scriptures of God's care & promise to Israel: Genesis 12:1-3; Joshua 1:1-6; Psalm 83:1-18 (noting Asaph's appeal to God against those nations confederate against Israel. That all men might know the LORD' Name is Yahweh - not Allah); Psalm 122:6,7; Isaiah 41:8-16; Ezekiel chaps 38 & 39 (still future); Zechariah 2:8,9; Zechariah 12:2-9 (still future).

And we also see God's protection over Israel even after the birth of the Jewish State in May 1948: soon after this, five Arab armies (Egypt, Syria, Jordan, Lebanon & Iraq) came against a small Israeli opposition & were resoundly defeated. 1967 (six-day war) where Egypt, Jordan, Syria & Lebanon) attacked Israel to wipe them off the map. They were not only defeated by Israel but Israel captured the Sinai, Golan Heights, Gaza & the West Bank. 1973 (on Yom-Kippur), Egyptian & Syrian forces attacked Israel on this holy day (Day of Atonement). Once again Israel was able to defeat this surprise attack against them with the help of U.S. forces. And 2016, in December, a mysterious storm cloud (of dust and rain) put a barrier between Israel and ISIS. Reports say the storm stopped on the border of Syria and ISIS was 'unable' to enter Israel's Golan Heights area. God has not forgotten Israel.

Oseas. You wrote, "The Law was established to put a moral discipline among the people which GOD had freed from Pharaoh's yoke." Of course, the Law did just that & of course, they had to obey it PERFECTLY. Wasn't this so? If it wasn't so, why did they suffer punishment or be killed - why not just keep a set of rules for them to follow the best way they could? The Law represented God's Standards for His people & failure to do so meant punishment - and fail they did. None could keep His Law perfectly, or else there would be no need for the sacrifices each year for the people & for personal sins. So the Law presented a "moral discipline", but also showed the condition of the human heart & the weakness of the flesh when they failed to obey God.

When Paul wrote about the Gentiles & their law & conscience ( Romans 2:14,15), he was referring to humanity's inner 'coding' in the conscience by which they know the right & proper things to do (in relation to each other & before an unseen God). These never received any of God's Laws, but their hearts will be judged because they couldn't even obey the dictates of their own consciences. So, both the Jew (with the Law), and the Gentile (without the Law, but having that inward law operating), stand condemned for their sins. The battle wasn't "between God & the Devil in having the dominion of the people", for Israel could never obey the Law anyway, as Satan would always have the victory. The battle was within Israel's heart - a heart of sin, subject to sin's demands upon them, & given over to Satan. See Paul's account of this in Romans 7:7-14 (the Law revealed his sin; he then died spiritually because of it - nothing to do with God's battles). Instead of fighting the Devil for souls, God provided His Own Sacrifice & His Own Spirit to redeem sinners.

You mentioned 'interpretation by the Spirit' & then "they died by the letterincluding the gods". Do you actually understand Psalm 82:6,7 & Isaiah 41:23, when you write these things?
  • Oseas - In Reply - 8 months ago
    Hi Chris

I think you need to reestudy more deeply because the Law was not given by GOD to Israel to give life to them, GOD knew of this, of course. Neither to lead them to death, this was not the point of GOD. The Law was established to put a moral discipline among the people which GOD had freed from Pharaoh's yoke.

The GOD's people developed and grown up exceedingly in Egypt, and in the way of desert they were living as brute beasts, and the idolatry of Egypt was in their heart. So to walk among them, GOD established the Law: The 1st: Thou shalt have no other gods before me; no image, no bow down to them; not take my name in vain; keep the sabbath day;Honour thy father and thy mother:not kill; not commit adultery;not steal;no false witness, and not covet.

No, God's Standards, showed not the nature of sin by the Law. Sin would be to disobey GOD, this is correct. Nor GOD's Standards showed the condition of the human heart, the Law would never do that. Actually, GOD laid down the moral Law and just required obedience, that's it. The sin would be to disobey GOD.

You say they were inability to fully meet the Law's demands. No, it' was not about inability to obey Law's demands, even Paul said that "the Gentiles, which have not the Law, do by nature the things contained in the Law, these, having not the law"; So Israel, that was the body of Moses, with the presence of GOD among them could perfectly to LITERALLY obey the Law. The battle was between GOD X the Devil in having the dominion of the people.

About the Bible's letter it"is NOT a stumbling block;it is the very(written)Word of God,given by the Spirit & enabling that Word to be applied to the believer", BUT only if it as long as it be interpreted by the Spirit, otherwise, if interpreted by the letter, it is a stumbling block, yes, and it kills exactly as the Devil did- Genesis 3:1- and they died by the letter and die to this day, including the gods- Psalms 82:6-7 combined with Isaiah 41:23.Take a look.Very deep

    Hi Chowell2

Jesus proclaimed Himself to be the "Alpha and Omega" in

    Revelation 1:8;

    Revelation 21:6; and

    Revelation 22:13.

Alpha and omega are the first and last letters of the Greek alphabet.

It's common to use the first and the last letters of the Hebrew alphabet to denote the whole of anything from beginning to end. Jesus as the beginning and end of all things is a reference to no one but God!

This statement of eternality could apply only to God.

It is equivalent to saying He always existed and always will.

The phrase also identifies Him as the God of the Old Testament. Isaiah ascribes this aspect of Jesus' nature as part of the triune God in several places. "I, the Lord, am the first, and with the last I am He" Isaiah 41:4.

"I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God"

    Isaiah 44:6.

I am he; I am the first, I also am the last" Isaiah 48:12.

I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, THE ALMIGHTY. Revelation 1:8

    I hope this helps.

    God bless.

    Psalm 97

Verse 1 indicates the "multitude of isles" being glad when the Lord reigns. This term has been said to refer to the Gentile nations or the outermost parts of the world. Ezekiel 39:6 and Isaiah 41:5 seem to refer to these parts of the world during the Tribulation with Isaiah 24:15 giving a prophetic indication that even in the fires God will be glorified.

Verse 2 on clouds and darkness are similar to Solomon's description of God in 1 Kings 8:12 similar to other passages.

Verse 3 through 5 show the affects on the earth of His coming. We are reminded of 2 Thessalonians 2:8 as well as the battle of Armageddon.

Verse 4 reminds us of Matthew 24:27 when the Son of Man comes as to His appearing.

Verse 5 shows us similar references to Psalm 68:2 among other places.

Verse 6 shows as things are now; God's presence evident to all as we see indicated in Romans 1 and Psalm 19. Man will see His glory when He comes to rule in the Millennium.

Verse 7 shows that finally idol worship will end when Christ comes back. People will eventually cast forth their idols of gold and silver during the Tribulation judgments as Isaiah 2:20. Perhaps some of that sadly will occur because Satan himself will demand worship and that will eliminate worship of any false gods but also the true God with the mark of the beast sealing people's fate.

Verse 8 shows how Judah and the remaining nation of Israel will rejoice; which will happen when He is returning as Zechariah 12:10 indicates. Verse 9 shows the majesty of God unparalleled.

Verse 10 shows how saints are delivered; either from or through disaster.

Verse 11 reminds us of His light and no longer a need for the sun and moon from Revelation 21:23 but also found in Isaiah 60:19.

Finally the last verse talks about rejoicing of the righteous and thanks at remembrance of His holiness. Good sentiment for all times or dispensations and the age to come.
  • S Spencer - In Reply - 1 year ago
    Hi Jema.

    That's a great question.

Eschatology is shaped around this topic. Also Dispensationalism and covenant theology is tested by this in a sense.

This is something I've been wanting to get to for some time now but I've been to busy.

    Thanks for bringing this up.

Some say God is done with Israel and the unfulfilled old testament promises was fulfilled in the Church.

And there's others weren't comfortable with that and say those promises was made to the church not " The Nation Israel."

I would direct both of these groups to Isaiah 41:8-9.

"But thou, Israel, art my servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, the seed of Abraham my friend.

Thou whom I have taken from the ends of the earth, and called thee from the chief men thereof, and said unto thee, Thou art my servant; I have chosen thee, and not cast thee away. ( Seed in this verse is not used in the way it's used in Genesis 22:18.) The seed in Genesis 22:18 relates to a promise of Christ.

Seed in Isaiah 41:8 relates to a nation whom that promised seed would come.

You will see the interpretation of these verses moved around to shape or hold on to a certain espoused eschatology.

When it comes to identifying a people there's three groups as seen in 1 Corinthians 10:32. ( Jews, Gentiles and the Church. )

The rolls and promises to these groups are distinct. Understanding that is important. .

Taking Gods promises literally is also important.

    More on this later.

    God bless.

    Mel8:

Your comment about the CARPENTER is scriptural.

Isaiah 41:7 So the CARPENTER (Christ), encouraged the goldsmith (YOU; the body of Christ, Christ does HIS WORKS by YOU, his body), and he (Christ) that smootheth with the hammer HIM (YOU; the POT, his body, he is the potter) that smote the anvil (YOU are the arm of Christ: as Christ is the arm of his Father), saying, It (YOU: sinful flesh) is ready for the sodering: and He (Christ) fastened IT (sinful flesh) with NAILS (to HIS CROSS), that IT (sinful flesh) should not be (re) moved.

Mark 6:1 Is not this the CARPENTER .....that made all things NEW: by his death and resurrection ....

You DIED with the CARPENTER on the CROSS, YOU and Christ were made ONE by HIS (and your) RESURRECTION.

Isaiah 44:13 The CARPENTER (Christ) stretcheth out his rule (YOU), he (Christ) maketh it (YOU) with a line, he (Christ) fitteth it (YOU) with planes, and he (Christ) maketh it (YOU) with the compass, and maketh it (YOU) after the figure of a MAN (CHRIST HIMSELF), according to the beauty of a MAN (CHRIST HIMSELF), that it (YOU; the new creation, the image of God) may remain in the HOUSE .... Hebrews 3:6 --- whose HOUSE YE ARE --- Psalms 23:6 ... and I (Christ) will dwell in the HOUSE (YOU) of the Lord forever .... Colossians 1:27 ... this mystery ... Christ IN YOU ...

Philippians 2:13 For it is GOD that worketh IN YOU both TO WILL and TO DO his good pleasure.

1 Corinthians 15:54 ...this mortal SHALL PUT ON immorality ....

1 Timothy 6:16 .... Christ ONLY hath immortality .... dwelling in the light ....

Philippians 2:5 Let this mind be IN YOU, which was also in Christ Jesus:

Philippians 2:6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be EQUAL to GOD.

2 Peter 1:4 Whereby are GIVEN TO US exceedingly great and precious PROMISES: that by these (promises) ye may be PARTAKERS of the DIVINE NATURE, having escaped the corruption (by the death of YOUR flesh on the cross) that is in the world through lust.

    God BLESS YOU!

    Skiman,

They could be basing their claim on any one of the following pieces of scripture:

    John 1:1, John 1:14, John 8:24, John 8:58, John 10:30-33, John 20:28, Hebrews 1:8, Colossians 2:9, Philippians 2:5-8, Psalm 45:6.

The Bible tells us that we are to worship God alone, and yet Jesus received worship and never rebuked anyone who worshipped Him. We see evidence of this in Matthew 2:2, Matthew 2:11, Matthew 14:33, Matthew 28:9, John 9:35-38, Hebrews 1:6.

Isaiah 44:6 reads, "Thus says the Lord, the King of Israel and his Redeemer, the Lord of hosts: "I am the first and I am the last, and there is no God besides me."

In Rev 1:17, it says "And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as a dead man." In Daniel 10:8-9, Daniel did the same thing. When he saw this vision of Christ, he fell down as he was dead. In Ezekiel 1:28, Ezekiel sees the vision and he falls down as a dead man. It goes on to say "Fear not; I am the first and the last: (the designation of God, found in Isaiah 41:4, and Isaiah 48:12).

In Revelation 1:18, it says I am He that lives, and this is another designation of God found in Psalm 84:2, and Joshua 3:10.

I am He that lives. God presents Himself to the Jews as the living God. He says I am He that lives, and was dead; literally, and became dead, and behold, I am living forevermore, His resurrection, His eternalness.

And then it reads, Amen; and I have the keys of hell and of death. Keys are a symbol of authority. Those who were in charge of the temple had the keys to the temple. We are told later on that the Lord (Jesus) will be in control of hell and death.

In Matthew 16:15, Jesus asks His disciples who do you say I am? Peter had the perfect answer. Peter said "Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God."

Peter was Jewish. The phrase "Son of the living God" from a Hebrew standpoint is a phrase used for God. To a Jew, claiming to be the Son of God was considered blasphemy, but that was Peter's response to who Jesus was

Hello Guys i was just thinking about the Elect....Its the H.G. which is the ISRAEL OF God.... Romans 9:8..Flesh and blood are not the Children of God....Its only Spirits that are the real Children....Simply b/c the Elect is Spirit the Promise...The H.G.

....Thats y Jesus is saying that which is born of the spirit is spirit...Which is the H.G. our new innerman....Our new heart and new spirit...We us sinners can only be a JOINT HEIR with the H.G. When we are bornagain...The Elect has to be born in us via the seed of Jesus...Which is the H.G. the Child of Promise....Its only the H.G that can show Judgement to the Gentiles and the Jews...As he is the Spirit of truth that is gona rule all nations.

Isaiah 41:1...Behold my servant in whom is my soul well pleased...I will put my spirit on him and he shall show judgement to the Gentiles....And Jesus tells us the gift of God is the H.G....Thus the H.G. wd have to be the Elect...We are just a joint heir with the H.G. That Child of Promise which is Spirit...There are 2 Israels 1 is earthy and 1 is heavenly...But God didn't sware by himself when he made the earthy Promise....God only swore by himself when he made the heavenly PROMISE...Which was multiplication of Christ SEED...The living word the H.G is that living being the Promise...The only Elect but we can be a joint heir with the H.G...Gal.4:1 Now i say unto you the heir as long as he is a Child differs nothin from servant till the time Appointed of the Father tho he BE LORD OF ALL...Thats the H.G. THAT IS LORD OF ALL THE ELECT...But he has to come as a Child our new born that results from the seed of Jesus...She brought forth a man child that is gonna rule all nations...Read ISAIAH 42...The Elect is the H.G. The only gift of God...Unless you receive the Kingdom of God as a lil Child (the H.G.) you will in no wise enter there in.....That Child of PROMISE..Natural Israel was the seed of men...But the Israel of God is via the seed of Christ Jesus the living word That N.C.

    Sammi:

May I add to the truths Alex has given you.

Christ said flesh and blood can not inherit the kingdom of God, you must be born again.

This birth can not take place till this body of flesh dies, we can only come to truth of what God is going to fulfil.

Christ said I am the way, the truth, and the LIFE, the LIFE in you is CHRIST, man will not die to themselves and believe this truth.

You are the BODY OF CHRIST.

Alex quoted you Revelation, he who lives by the sword, the sword is THE WORD OF GOD, Christ the WORD, the SEED is the WORD OF GOD, Christ is the SEED, the SEED is the SPIRIT OF CHRIST, this is the LIFE in YOU, so he who lives by the sword must died by the sword, the WORD has to destroy deceptions, lies and falsehoods, all of these are born of Satan, your carnal mind.

Ecclesiastes 12:7 Then shall the dust (flesh and bone body) return to the dust it was, and the spirit shall return unto God that gave it ----your are BORN AGAIN.

You are the BODY OF CHRIST, you do what the spirit causes you to do, Ezekiel 36:27, Philippians 2:13, your the body, the spirit of Christ (the SEED) is the LIFE.

1 John 3:9 Whosoever is born of God (has the mind of Christ) doeth not commit sin (the body only does what the spirit of Christ causes it to do, 24/7); for his SEED (truth and life); remaineth in him (his body): and he cannot sin (thy will be done), because he is born of God.

Jeremiah 51:19:24, Isaiah 41:15 ----God always uses man to do HIS WORK, Christ said of myself I can do nothing, he knew he was the body of the Father, he could only do what the spirit of the Father caused him to do, he said we can do nothing without him, we are only the body that the spirit of Christ uses to perform all his pleasure.

Can you be angry and not sin? Christ was continually anger with the Pharisees, yet he was without sin, why, because he was only doing what the spirit caused him to do.

God Bless You as we are driven to truth.

    Revelation chapter 20.

This chapter; like all scriptures should be taken as a literal prophetic event unless certain things are clearly symbolic. In this case everything is given a literal time frame and sequence; with supporting details not only in this chapter and the rest of Revelation; but other books including the Old Testament in scripture.

We can argue what we may about a Post Millennium mindset and agree to disagree if we have a basic belief in Christ's PHYSICAL return to earth in the future (something which FULL preterists seem to think has already occurred but in some mystical fashion). That would be the only case where we should disfellowship; and I and another brother in the Lord were forced to do that a few years ago. Something else which I consider very dangerous is the mindset that Satan is already bound in the bottomless pit. This is notwithstanding all the promises of the church that the powers of darkness will have no affect on us. There is certainly no limitation on killing the saints of God which Satan will do and continue to do until his punishment is enacted (at the end of the Tribulation and the end of the battle after he is released after the 1000 years). The general statement that a time worse than any that has ever happened or will ever exist again ( Matt. 24:21) with all the percentages of deaths listed in Revelation certainly has not occurred yet. We need to examine other scriptures such as Isaiah 14:17; Isaiah 41:5-13 on the coastlands burning; Isaiah 13:12 on man being rarer than the "gold of Ophir"; Isaiah 30:28 about the nations being put into the seive of destruction; Zechariah 12:9 on all nations gathered and half of Jerusalem taken and numerous other prophetic passages to see that indeed Armageddon must occur. Other verses talk of clear descriptions of mortal man still capable of sinning on the earth in the Millennium such as Zechariah 14:17-18; and Isaiah 65:20-25 being two of the clearest examples.
