Daniel 9:24-27, in this prophecy, there are seventy weeks or 490 years determined unto Daniel's people and the holy city to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.
Have these 6 things been fulfilled in Jesus the Messiah, and the judgment of it carried out in 70 AD? If so, all of this prophecy has been fulfilled in the past.

Having Christ's righteousness imputed to us does not mean we automatically do what is right-that will come through the process of sanctification. What it does mean is that we are positionally righteous; even though we still sin, we are legally righteous. God has credited the righteousness of Christ to our account, and He did this when He saved us. In grace, the holiness of Jesus Christ is ascribed to us. Christ "has become for us wisdom from God, that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption"

No one who belongs to Christ continue to "Practice" sin as a way of life.
If we don't have assurance of salvation then of course we are fickle in any witnessing endeavors and it is hard to reflect the hope within us ( 1 Peter 3:15). We must have confidence and as Phillipians 1:28 states And in nothing terrified by your adversaries: which is to them an evident token of perdition, but to you of salvation, and that of God.
Part of this is giving a bold defense of judgment to come as John 16:8 states is how the Spirit works on men's hearts. If we doubt ourselves because of what men think; or somehow think we can dodge verses that state categorically that what is stated in 2 Timothy 3:12 about all who are Godly suffering persecution we are only fooling ourselves. Society today has gone to great lengths to ensure we don't offend anyone but the Gospel IS an offense ( 1 Peter 2:8). Having a proper foundation of scripture is necessary to give a sound testimony. Hell and judgment should be taught with fear and trembling; not with a proud attitude but nonetheless must be preached.
We have made too much of presentation in form rather than substance with a sideshow of music and a "two spoonfuls of sugar make the medicine go down" to quote an old tune probably not familiar to young folks here. Revelation 10:10 states that although it tastes sweet it was bitter in the stomach (in regard to the prophetic words John was to speak). When we are surrendured to the Spirit we will see reactions like the jailor in Acts 16:30 "what must I do to be saved?" NOWHERE in scripture to we see pleading and cajoling for any individual to be saved. God draws all those who He eventually saves; so we should let Him do the work and get out of the way ourselves and any agenda that isn't Biblically sound. Only the Spirit convicts of sin and until it does that work we can only sow a seed. The numbers game where prizes are offered when a certain number of new converts a day make a confession is an abomination.

Hi F Major. 1 Peter 1:2 tells us, "Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied."
The Apostle Peter wrote this letter to Christians, mainly of Jewish birth, who were scattered to other nations (mainly resulting from the great persecutions from the Jewish leaders/Saul: Acts 8:1). Peter calls them the Elect of God, i.e. those whom God has chosen to be His. And what criterion did God use to make this selection? The Word tells us that they, and us who believe, are chosen by Him because He knew beforehand (foreknowledge) all those who would hear the Gospel of Salvation through Christ & would respond in faith.
So yes, God has chosen each one of us who believes - He didn't force us to believe just so that we wouldn't nullify His wise choosing by Him making a mistake; but He knew who would respond & to these were granted the gift & privilege of being adopted into His family (see Ephesians 1:3-14 for a greater picture of this mighty Work of God on our behalf). Does this then mean that we don't need to share the Gospel with those trapped & lost in sin because God will save them anyway if they are called to be His elect? No, we must share the Gospel with all, because not only are we not privy to those who would be saved, but God has chosen to save some because when they hear the Gospel, they will believe by the convicting power of His Spirit, & they will call upon the Name of Jesus to save them from the awful penalty of sin & estrangement from a loving God.
"Unto you therefore which believe he is precious..." ( 1 Peter 2:7). If we truly belong to the LORD, Jesus is the most Precious One in our lives, for He has chosen us to be saved with so great & costly a salvation. Unbelievers might stomp on Jesus, curse & ridicule Him - but to us He is precious and our delight, & we can be ever thankful for being chosen to be His.

Once saved always saved is kind of like the word "Rapture"; the verses about being sealed with the Spirit until the Day of Redemption ( Eph. 4:30) basically indicate that once HIS work is completed we cannot "undo" it. We have passed from "death to life" ( John 5:24) if we truly believe; and 1 John 3:14 shows the same author indicating EVIDENCE through loving one another (specifically the brethren) that we are saved; as well as showing that if WE DON'T we are liars and the truth is not in us ( 1 John 4:20).
My first point is that there is always evidence of the Hope that is within us if it truly exists ( 1 Peter 3:15). The second point goes with it that we preach the truth; any other Gospel is "anathema" ( Gal. 1:8-9). Interestingly; 1 Corinthians 16:22 2 verses before the end of the book state that if any man does NOT love the Lord Jesus Christ let him be "anathema". These two verses domenstate we need truth and love; one doesn't work independently of the other.
I will make a general statement for my third point. The more knowledge we have; the more responsibility we have. Hence; there is greater punishment for those who walk away from the truth and go back to the world than those who never knew it in the first place ( 1 Peter 2:20-21). We only need to look at Lucifer himself to see how pride brought his judgment without mercy; since he was a Cheribum that led worship of music in heaven itself for an unknown time; created perfect in all his ways before that time ( Ezekiel 28:15).
The fourth point is related to the third; that much head knowledge apart from the inner man being renewed daily ( 2 Cor. 4:16) is at best a fruitless venture; at worst again leads to greater damnation without accompanying faith. Such a man often obsesses on one doctrine and ignores the integrity of all scripture; or worse can justify a sin by not being a Berean and "rightly dividing the Word" ( 2 Tim. 2:15) despite what all their church friends may say.

Hebrews 6:4-8 as well as 1 Peter 2:3 show that those who have tasted the heavenly gift and other things of the Spirit as well as the powers of the coming age to be renewed once again to repentance once fallen away. We must remember first of all that much like Satan Himself Christ's works were made manifest for all men to see and thus nothing more could be done after witnessing undeniable miracles such as blind being healed which had never been seen in O.T. times. Satan Himself was built on pride and self-exaltation therefore was mad enough to desire worship for himself despite being in heaven and seeing God's glory and no doubt the earth and the rest of Creation therefore he was given no chance of repentance ( Job 38:7). We see singing in that verse; something Lucifer as Cheribum was designed to do in charge of worship but it was turned to evil. By default then Satan is the God and loyalty of all who do this to the Spirit; most will sin and admit God is righteous or simply hate God or be afraid (as in the sixth seal); eventually Satan will be sent for those who LOVE not the truth but a lie ( 2 Thess. 2:10). Like it or not Antichrist will eventually blasphemy God and yet all those not in the Book of Life will worship him and be damned ( Rev. 13:8).

There are verses where it says that God dwells in thick clouds; i.e. a form of darkness. ( 1 Kings 8:12; also see Psalm 97:2). Darkness in the physical realm is simply the opposite of light. We could say in terms of evil that calamity is created by God for His purposes; although the Lord allows evil spirits to have some authority in that situation (such as the trials with Job). As with Job; the Tribulation also is predetermined to be a time of greater evil than has ever occurred before; or will ever be afterwards. ( Matt. 24:21). Such a trial can be escaped ( Rev. 3:10) by those who are walking in the Spirit as Jesus declared to the Philadelphia church. Those who will endure the Tribulation will be given the strength to overcome; and all those NOT written in the Book of Life will worship the Beast ( Rev. 17:8). In short; physical death represents overcoming; while preserving one's life causes one to ultimately lose it; in terms of eternal life ( John 12:25). This means as a believer it makes sense to "die daily" ( 1 Cor 15:31) which opposes the flesh which desires the opposite.
God did create hell as well; but originally it was meant for the Devil and his angels. ( Matt. 25:41). Clearly; men enter in there because they are following their master; namely Satan rather than God. Therefore; all things work out for the good for those who love God ( Romans 8:28); but conversely; there is no peace for the wicked ( Isaiah 48:22; other passages).
Those who truly know Christ have already gone from darkness into light ( 1 Peter 2:9; etal). We also are able to escape any of the second death ( Rev. 20:7). It is in men's hearts where the god of this world has blinded them; not in the physical realm at this time ( 2 Cor. 4:4). Therefore the darkness of spiritual blindness is basically the essence of evil; so in that sense if we aren't careful what we consider light is really darkness ( Luke 11:35).
Deuteronomy 29:29 shows how we can't fathom God's hidden counsel.

Is there still sin today? Yes. Will there still be sin and death after Jesus's second coming? Yes. Even during the 1000 years, there will be sin and death until all is made new Rev. 21:1-4 but through Jesus, they are covered and sealed, Rev. 16:15
3 To make reconciliation for iniquity (Reconciliation is an element of salvation that refers to the results of the atonement, iniquity is guilt, crookedness, perverseness, that which is not straight or upright, moral distortion, in the dark. Colossians 1:20-22Isaiah 53:6Isaiah 53:11Ephesians 2:16Titus 2:142 Corinthians 5:18-19.
The word reconcile means to bring back to a former state of harmony Jesus reconciled both Jew and Gentile unto God in one body by the cross and now through Jesus we both Jew and Gentile have access by one Spirit unto the Father no more strangers or foreigners but fellow citizens. Making reconciliation for iniquity concerns our involvement in the work of salvation.
4 To bring in everlasting righteousness. Everlasting, no end, righteousness, justice, mercy, loving-kindness, in conformity to the demands of the covenant and according to God's will, fair and balanced. Isaiah 61:10-112 Corinthians 5:21Romans 3:21-26Romans 5:17-211 Peter 2:24.
Romans 13:1-7 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation. For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Brothers and sisters: Beyond Armageddon into eternity
Revelation 19 makes it clear that we shall follow Christ in heavenly armies upon His return in verse 14. All of our garments will be white suggesting purity; finally praise God our sins that often beset us will be removed; as well as our vile bodies transformed to ones befitting eternity in a glorified state ( 1 Cor. 15:40-50).
It appears that David Himself will rule with Christ in the Millennial period as a king ( Hosea 3:5). We also are "kings and priests" as seen in Revelation 1:6; 5:10 as well as 1 Peter 2:9 and likely elsewhere. Those who are faithful in few things will rule over many ( Luke 16:10); and that is in term of actual cities (See Matthew 25:21 and surrounding verses). Exactly how this will happen may not be fully known until that time; and being that some are diehard Postmillenials I certainly don't want to split hairs and be removed from posting here over this issue. How this affects the eternal reign after the 1000 years with God Himself coming to earth with the heavenly Jerusalem remains to be seen as well.
In the more immediate future; if we take Revelation in what appears to be chronological with the things "immediately after" ( Rev. 4:1) it would appear that we are represented before the 1st Seal as the "kings and priests" along with the 24 elders representing what most believe are the 12 Patriarchs and 12 Apostles. Physically present we would likely take an active part in the incense of the prayers of the saints as we see in 5:8 and 8:4 with the seal and trumpet judgments. We shall only behold the destruction of the wicked from afar ( Psalm 91:8 loosely translated).
Since we are already seated in heavenly places ( Eph. 2:6) we have much more going on than what we see now with our eyes.
May our conversation concerning all the evils of the world and our loathing of it be focused on the solution rather than the problem; namely prayer in the Spirit not that of Eccles. 7:10
Basic points: Scripture makes it clear that we as believers are to "suffer for His name's sake" ( Philippians 1:29). We are given a new heart with our stony heart removed ( Ezekiel 36:26). We are to love the brethren ( 1 John 3:14) if we have "passed from death to life." We also love our enemies ( Matt. 5:44) and we should read the entire passage to meditate on how we pray for them who despitefully use you"; etc. We are aliens ( 1 Peter 2:11-12; see also 1 Chron. 29:15) and not of this world. We are truly born again and seated in heavenly places ( Eph. 2:6) and our treasure is now in heaven as well ( Matt. 6:20-21). We understand that we were saved as hopeless sinners and therefore serve as "unworthy servants" ( Luke 17:7-10). We still have peace that passes understanding (Phillipians 4:7); and is not of this world ( John 14:27).
With all this we have an understanding of how we have been called and chosen and predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son ( Romans 8:29).
We learn to love His ways and His Word; trusting God for the difficult and hard scriptures and sayings as well. A true believer is being transformed by the renewing of His mind ( Romans 12:2) and is concerned about the needs of others; particularly within the house of God. Hebrews 13 as well as Paul's example ( 2 Cor. 11:28) despite the persecutions he endured. We desire to grow and also must believe He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him ( Heb. 11:6). That means we also desire to win the prize of the high calling (Phillipians 3:14). Therefore those in Christ should be careful not to lose their reward ( Rev. 3:11).
All this being said; there are examples of those who think they are saved but are not; as well as those who make it into heaven but suffer loss. Evidence of fruit can be seen in time; and each of us are responsible to test ourselves to see if we are in the faith ( 2 Cor. 13:5). Seek and ye shall find ( Matt 7:7-8
The nation of Israel is a good example of this, too. At one time they were the people of God, a chosen nation, a royal priesthood, a peculiar people ( Ex. 19:6, Deut. 7:6, 10:15).
But due to their repeated idolatry and rebellion, even after the captivity in Assyria and Babylon, and then even more so in Jesus' day, the kingdom was taken from them and given to another people (the believers in Jesus). Romans speaks of the cultivated olive branch which represents Jesus as the holy root, and the Israelites as the branches. Paul speaks about the branches being broken off (unbelieving Jews) and the Gentile believers being ingrafted into the root (Jesus).
But is says that even if some of the branches were broken out because of unbelief and rejection of Jesus (Jews), some Jews who come to believe in Jesus can be grafted back in once again. This illustration never says that the whole nation of Israel is grafted back in, only those who truly return in repentance to God through Christ. These believing Jews then become a part of the holy nation, royal priesthood, peculiar people chosen of God (now the church of Jesus, which is the people that, were given the kingdom) ( 1 Peter 2:9).
Israel's selection by God and their subsequent rejection of Him and then being cast aside by God with God able to restore those who repent and return to Him in faith again, although very true and real, also is a type and shadow for those of the New Covenant who may fall away and wish to return to God through Christ. He will receive all who are contrite of heart, heavy laden with sin, and desiring to once again have fellowship restored with God in Christ. This is such wonderful news about the grace and mercy and desire of God to those who are to inherit the kingdom promised.
We are to put no confidence in the flesh, and our heart is wicked, and our mind is fixed on this life so often, all due to our sinful nature.
But praise the Lord, He has overcome all of what the sin has done to us and saved us from our own sin. We do not need to expect condemnation by God, NO! We receive mercy and grace and are made a new creation in our spirit. We can look to Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith. It all comes from Him!
We are so blessed, even in heavenly places where Jesus sits on His throne next the Father, reigning over all creation. We have come to Mt. Zion, the throne of grace in Christ. We can rejoice in God our Savior and give thanks to Him. We can give Him the honor due Him and focus our love on Him since He has done so to us first.
But in the all in all, it is God who wrought all of this in us, desiring since before creation to draw out of sinful humanity a redeemed people for Himself. And we are that people, the holy nation, royal priesthood, and a peculiar people, chosen from pre-creation to receive the Kingdom of heaven with God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit called to show forth His praises. ( 1 Peter 2:8-9) This was said of the people of Israel in the Old Testament,, but now in the New Testament it is said only of the redeemed in Christ. The OT people were a type and shadow of the people God would redeem.
It's thankworthy or commendable to endure injustice and suffering if you are doing right.
Such a backwards way of looking at things compared to the World's way of getting vengeance or 'social justice' now. This one will take a lot of practice and will need to trust the Lord that all justice will occur in the end.
Thoughts on Christ's sacrifice and how it should mirror our own journey as pilgrims on the earth ( 1 Peter 2:11).
The Lord along with at least 2 Apostles lived with an understanding of their time of death approaching (Paul after being warned what would come to pass in Jerusalem; and Peter after Christ's questioning his love for Him). There was always care to the disciples in the case of Christ; and the church in regard to Paul's ministry in particular but certainly Peter and others as well which superceded their own sufferings. This takes Spirit filled living of course; as well as loving our enemies ( Matt. 5:44). Jesus showed the ultimate example of concern at the cross (See John 19:26-27) when John brought Mary into his home (indicating; of course that Joseph had passed away by this point along with his absence in this passage).
Our natural inclination would be to react as Matthew 16:22 as Peter did to the thought of Christ going to the cross if we are honest. Good Friday is only good to us if we go beyond some ritual commemorating suffering without understanding His substitutionary death results in our atonement and ultimately commenced in victory at the Resurrection. This is how ugly our sins were and of course it demonstrates how we were yet sinners and Christ died for us; His enemies ( Romans 5:8). Christ; of course chose to do the Father's will; He was in one sense the victim of circumstances; but these were predestined to bring us to glory. The Father in Isaiah 53:10 was pleased to crush His Son; we cannot comprehend this as to the Godhead; or as to how great His love is for us.
Therefore let us commit our whole lives to patiently serving God; and believing that He is a rewarder of those who do good and diligently serve Him. ( Heb. 11:6). May we minister to the Body as we are all adopted sons; and no longer of this world. Isaiah 53:11 shows how Christ will enjoy the result of His suffering; Psalm 91:16 may apply to our future as well.
Ezekiel 20:36-40 is an interesting read; and it seems to show how at the end of the Tribulation God will judge the Jews in particular as to who is suitable to enter into the Millennial Kingdom.
As you probably are aware; many elements of the Exodus are similar to what goes on during the Tribulation judgments; such as water being turned into blood andarkness being brought to part of the earth. The hardening of Pharoah is much like the Antichrist after he rids himself of the two witnesses (a bit like Moses and Aaron in their prophesying). We see the physical preservation of those that escape the "flood" that comes out of the mouth of the Beast ( Rev. 12:15)-called the serpent. Much like the Egyptians on their suicidal mission to get the Jews back we see Antichrist and his armies fighting Christ at His return ( Psalm 2). There are some who physically survive and thus; are judged as to whether they are true believers or just rebels from the remnant who haven't taken the mark of the Beast among the Jews; it would seem. It is a sobering thought that circumstances don't change sheep from goats; as we see another rebellion at the end of the Millenium after a world that is as close to Paradise as mortal man can experience.
On this day; of course we are reminded of Christ's sacrificial death; atonement and ultimate Resurrection defeating death and hell as a result of our sins which He took on when nailed to the cross. Isaiah 63:3 and many other passages demonstrate that the wrath of God must be satisfied either in His method of substitutionary sacrifice or in His wrath at Armageddon when He judges the world or at the death of all unregenerate individuals suffering their eternal fate separated from God in hell.
Let us live consistent with being a peculiar people ( 1 Peter 2:9); also referencing our priesthood (it is good to read the whole verse). The hidden inner man is what contrasts us from the rest of the world; not an outside veneer of religion.
Walking in the Spirit (part 6) continuation discerning spirit of truth vs error
All the previous section was focused on suffering for Christ's sake. Many today seem to forget the scriptures that state ALL who live Godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution ( 2 Tim. 3:12) and other verses stating that He "chastises all those He loves" ( Heb. 12:6). Those who aren't are said to be illegitimate children. In discerning truth from error; we see how few of the so called "prophets" today make such declarations as Agabus who predicted both imprisonment of Paul and a famine; or that of Christ to Peter on his eventual capture and implied martyrdom. ( John 21:18). We have had certain prominent individuals stating that another prominent one would suffer some malady because of the so called "not touching the anointed prophets" ( Psalm 105:15).
Again I will leave names out here; some things are just too ridiculous to get into anyway. What is certain is that bad news; whether that of the state of churches in Revelation 2; or that of the Prophets of old such as Isaiah; Ezekiel and Jeremiah who weren't exactly winning any popularity contests when time and time again they warned of judgment to come for specific sins is something heard very little today; and no wonder. Everyone wants their ears tickled with what they want to hear; what is the most popular or "politically correct" advice among the crowd of "professing" believers.
When the cure is worse than the disease; those who are of the truth will not be satisfied with a band-aid approach. This earth is not our home; and we should live this life accordingly.
Therefore; when we are in fellowship we should seek to be around those who are truly Spirit filled as well as run away from where the spirit of error is. We are to be "set apart" for His use ( 1 Thess. 4:7). What is refreshing in being hot or cold is that it alleviates any confusion or compromise of assimilation with those in the world ( 1 Peter 2:9-10).
Hey brother just one last thing to consider.
Daniel 9:24-27, in this prophecy, there are seventy weeks or 490 years determined unto Daniel's people and the holy city to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.
Have these 6 things been fulfilled in Jesus the Messiah, and the judgment of it carried out in 70 AD? If so, all of this prophecy has been fulfilled in the past.
1 To finish the transgression. To break or violate, as a law, civil or moral; the act of transgressing. Psalms 32:1 Isaiah 53:5-11 Romans 4:14-15 Galatians 3:18-19 Hebrews 9:14-15.
2 To make an end to sins. Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. Matthew 1:21 Hebrews 10:8-11 John 1:29 1 Corinthians 15:3 1 John 3:5 Psalm 32:1 Romans 3:21-26 Romans 8:3.

5 To seal up the vision and prophecy. The greatest prediction, which runs like a golden thread through the whole contents of the Old Testament, is that regarding the coming and work of the Messiah, Jesus. Daniel 9:23 Matthew 11:11-15 Mark 1:14-15 John 5:36-40 John 6:27 Acts 3:18.
6 To anoint the most holy. The high priest went into the holy of holies once a year with the blood of a sacrificed bull. Jesus our high priest with His own blood anointed the most holy not made with hands once and for all, forever. Hebrews 9:6-14.
Jesus said it in John 19:28-30.

Part 2.
Sanctification and fruit barring.
Having Christ's righteousness imputed to us does not mean we automatically do what is right-that will come through the process of sanctification. What it does mean is that we are positionally righteous; even though we still sin, we are legally righteous. God has credited the righteousness of Christ to our account, and He did this when He saved us. In grace, the holiness of Jesus Christ is ascribed to us. Christ "has become for us wisdom from God, that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption"
1 Corinthians 1:30.
1John 5:13 reads"These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

If a person knows Christ and is growing in grace, he or she will be generally marked by the following traits:
1. The believer enjoys fellowship with Christ and His redeemed people. 1 John 1:3.
2. The believer walks in the light, not in the darkness. 1 John 1:6-7.
3. The believer admits and confesses his sin. 1 John 1:8.
4. The believer obeys God's Word. 1 John 2:3-5.
5. The believer loves God rather than the world. 1 John 2:15.
6. The believer's life is characterized by "doing what is right" 1 John 2:29.
7. The believer seeks to maintain a pure life. 1 John 3:3.
8. The believer sees a decreasing pattern of sin in his life. 1 John 3:5-6.
1 John 5:18.
9. The believer demonstrates love for other Christians ( 1 John 3:14).
10. The believer "walks the walk," versus just "talking the talk" 1 John 3:18-19.
11. The believer maintains a clear conscience. 1 John 3:21.
12. The believer experiences victory in his Christian walk 1 John 5:4.
Number 8 in the list above is that the believer will evince a decreasing pattern of sin in his or her life.
No one who belongs to Christ continue to "Practice" sin as a way of life.

If we don't have assurance of salvation then of course we are fickle in any witnessing endeavors and it is hard to reflect the hope within us ( 1 Peter 3:15). We must have confidence and as Phillipians 1:28 states And in nothing terrified by your adversaries: which is to them an evident token of perdition, but to you of salvation, and that of God.
Part of this is giving a bold defense of judgment to come as John 16:8 states is how the Spirit works on men's hearts. If we doubt ourselves because of what men think; or somehow think we can dodge verses that state categorically that what is stated in 2 Timothy 3:12 about all who are Godly suffering persecution we are only fooling ourselves. Society today has gone to great lengths to ensure we don't offend anyone but the Gospel IS an offense ( 1 Peter 2:8). Having a proper foundation of scripture is necessary to give a sound testimony. Hell and judgment should be taught with fear and trembling; not with a proud attitude but nonetheless must be preached.
We have made too much of presentation in form rather than substance with a sideshow of music and a "two spoonfuls of sugar make the medicine go down" to quote an old tune probably not familiar to young folks here. Revelation 10:10 states that although it tastes sweet it was bitter in the stomach (in regard to the prophetic words John was to speak). When we are surrendured to the Spirit we will see reactions like the jailor in Acts 16:30 "what must I do to be saved?" NOWHERE in scripture to we see pleading and cajoling for any individual to be saved. God draws all those who He eventually saves; so we should let Him do the work and get out of the way ourselves and any agenda that isn't Biblically sound. Only the Spirit convicts of sin and until it does that work we can only sow a seed. The numbers game where prizes are offered when a certain number of new converts a day make a confession is an abomination.
Part 5 and last Trinity discussion,
Do you believe that Jesus lived a sinless life?
Scripture is clear Jesus had no sin, Hebrews 4:15 1 Peter 2:22 1 John 3:5 Romans 5:12-15.
Do you believe that the Father and the Son are one as Jesus said in Jn. 17 or that He and the Father are "in" one another and if they see Jesus, they see the Father?
Both, Jesus said I and my Father are one John 10:30 and in other places, one means unity. Jesus was one with the Father not because Jesus was God but because He was filled with the Spirit and God dwelt in him, John 14:10, as we see God was in Christ 2 Corinthians 5:19
God dwelt in Jesus and empowered Him by His Spirit that gave Jesus the power and authority like Matthew 11:27 All things are delivered to Jesus of His Father, Jesus did not have it, all was given to Him. God was manifest in Jesus, John 12:49 John 14:10. This is why Jesus said if you have seen me, you have seen the Father, John 14:9.
Jesus in His prayer asked the Father that we may be one, as He and His Father are one through the words of the disciples, John 17:20-23. God and Jesus will dwell in us and we in them, 1 John 4:13-16 1 John 3:23-24.
How is it that Jesus AND the Father send the Holy Spirit if there is only one person as God?
Jesus said He would pray to the Father to give another comforter, John 14:16, we see in John 14:26 the Father will send in Jesus's name. In John 15:26 Jesus said I will send but this is from the Father and the Spirit of truth that proceedeth from the Father. This is not a person it is the Spirit of God.
Please don't take this wrong, in the Trinity there is one God who eternally exists as three distinct Persons: The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, each Person is fully God, coequal, coeternal, and consubstantial. I'm sorry my understanding, is Scripture does not support that, Scripture is clear the Father is above all.

The Apostle Peter wrote this letter to Christians, mainly of Jewish birth, who were scattered to other nations (mainly resulting from the great persecutions from the Jewish leaders/Saul: Acts 8:1). Peter calls them the Elect of God, i.e. those whom God has chosen to be His. And what criterion did God use to make this selection? The Word tells us that they, and us who believe, are chosen by Him because He knew beforehand (foreknowledge) all those who would hear the Gospel of Salvation through Christ & would respond in faith.
So yes, God has chosen each one of us who believes - He didn't force us to believe just so that we wouldn't nullify His wise choosing by Him making a mistake; but He knew who would respond & to these were granted the gift & privilege of being adopted into His family (see Ephesians 1:3-14 for a greater picture of this mighty Work of God on our behalf). Does this then mean that we don't need to share the Gospel with those trapped & lost in sin because God will save them anyway if they are called to be His elect? No, we must share the Gospel with all, because not only are we not privy to those who would be saved, but God has chosen to save some because when they hear the Gospel, they will believe by the convicting power of His Spirit, & they will call upon the Name of Jesus to save them from the awful penalty of sin & estrangement from a loving God.
"Unto you therefore which believe he is precious..." ( 1 Peter 2:7). If we truly belong to the LORD, Jesus is the most Precious One in our lives, for He has chosen us to be saved with so great & costly a salvation. Unbelievers might stomp on Jesus, curse & ridicule Him - but to us He is precious and our delight, & we can be ever thankful for being chosen to be His.
We have the best teacher in us that is the Spirit of truth! That is Christ spirit. "The Holyspirit"
as Peter said in 1 Peter 2:2 "As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:
We study God's word and the Holyspirit makes it real to us!
Christ gifted his Church with teachers and Preachers and they will have the same Spirit as you that will guide you along with the word of God.
We test EVERYTHING with the light of scripture.
This teaching of his is worse than you think, He's not only saying the saved becomes God! He's saying ALL of humanity will be God's! No matter what you have done! There's No consequences for sin.
He's saying We are not saved from anything.
This suggests that what Christ did on the cross was a foolish act and unnecessary.
The love of God shown in John 3:16 was un caused for.
He's also is saying there is no punishment for unbelief.

Once saved always saved is kind of like the word "Rapture"; the verses about being sealed with the Spirit until the Day of Redemption ( Eph. 4:30) basically indicate that once HIS work is completed we cannot "undo" it. We have passed from "death to life" ( John 5:24) if we truly believe; and 1 John 3:14 shows the same author indicating EVIDENCE through loving one another (specifically the brethren) that we are saved; as well as showing that if WE DON'T we are liars and the truth is not in us ( 1 John 4:20).
My first point is that there is always evidence of the Hope that is within us if it truly exists ( 1 Peter 3:15). The second point goes with it that we preach the truth; any other Gospel is "anathema" ( Gal. 1:8-9). Interestingly; 1 Corinthians 16:22 2 verses before the end of the book state that if any man does NOT love the Lord Jesus Christ let him be "anathema". These two verses domenstate we need truth and love; one doesn't work independently of the other.
I will make a general statement for my third point. The more knowledge we have; the more responsibility we have. Hence; there is greater punishment for those who walk away from the truth and go back to the world than those who never knew it in the first place ( 1 Peter 2:20-21). We only need to look at Lucifer himself to see how pride brought his judgment without mercy; since he was a Cheribum that led worship of music in heaven itself for an unknown time; created perfect in all his ways before that time ( Ezekiel 28:15).
The fourth point is related to the third; that much head knowledge apart from the inner man being renewed daily ( 2 Cor. 4:16) is at best a fruitless venture; at worst again leads to greater damnation without accompanying faith. Such a man often obsesses on one doctrine and ignores the integrity of all scripture; or worse can justify a sin by not being a Berean and "rightly dividing the Word" ( 2 Tim. 2:15) despite what all their church friends may say.
Satan Himself was built on pride and self-exaltation therefore was mad enough to desire worship for himself despite being in heaven and seeing God's glory and no doubt the earth and the rest of Creation therefore he was given no chance of repentance ( Job 38:7). We see singing in that verse; something Lucifer as Cheribum was designed to do in charge of worship but it was turned to evil. By default then Satan is the God and loyalty of all who do this to the Spirit; most will sin and admit God is righteous or simply hate God or be afraid (as in the sixth seal); eventually Satan will be sent for those who LOVE not the truth but a lie ( 2 Thess. 2:10). Like it or not Antichrist will eventually blasphemy God and yet all those not in the Book of Life will worship him and be damned ( Rev. 13:8).

God did create hell as well; but originally it was meant for the Devil and his angels. ( Matt. 25:41). Clearly; men enter in there because they are following their master; namely Satan rather than God. Therefore; all things work out for the good for those who love God ( Romans 8:28); but conversely; there is no peace for the wicked ( Isaiah 48:22; other passages).
Those who truly know Christ have already gone from darkness into light ( 1 Peter 2:9; etal). We also are able to escape any of the second death ( Rev. 20:7). It is in men's hearts where the god of this world has blinded them; not in the physical realm at this time ( 2 Cor. 4:4). Therefore the darkness of spiritual blindness is basically the essence of evil; so in that sense if we aren't careful what we consider light is really darkness ( Luke 11:35).
Deuteronomy 29:29 shows how we can't fathom God's hidden counsel.

Revelation 19 makes it clear that we shall follow Christ in heavenly armies upon His return in verse 14. All of our garments will be white suggesting purity; finally praise God our sins that often beset us will be removed; as well as our vile bodies transformed to ones befitting eternity in a glorified state ( 1 Cor. 15:40-50).
It appears that David Himself will rule with Christ in the Millennial period as a king ( Hosea 3:5). We also are "kings and priests" as seen in Revelation 1:6; 5:10 as well as 1 Peter 2:9 and likely elsewhere. Those who are faithful in few things will rule over many ( Luke 16:10); and that is in term of actual cities (See Matthew 25:21 and surrounding verses). Exactly how this will happen may not be fully known until that time; and being that some are diehard Postmillenials I certainly don't want to split hairs and be removed from posting here over this issue. How this affects the eternal reign after the 1000 years with God Himself coming to earth with the heavenly Jerusalem remains to be seen as well.
In the more immediate future; if we take Revelation in what appears to be chronological with the things "immediately after" ( Rev. 4:1) it would appear that we are represented before the 1st Seal as the "kings and priests" along with the 24 elders representing what most believe are the 12 Patriarchs and 12 Apostles. Physically present we would likely take an active part in the incense of the prayers of the saints as we see in 5:8 and 8:4 with the seal and trumpet judgments. We shall only behold the destruction of the wicked from afar ( Psalm 91:8 loosely translated).
Since we are already seated in heavenly places ( Eph. 2:6) we have much more going on than what we see now with our eyes.
May our conversation concerning all the evils of the world and our loathing of it be focused on the solution rather than the problem; namely prayer in the Spirit not that of Eccles. 7:10
Basic points: Scripture makes it clear that we as believers are to "suffer for His name's sake" ( Philippians 1:29). We are given a new heart with our stony heart removed ( Ezekiel 36:26). We are to love the brethren ( 1 John 3:14) if we have "passed from death to life." We also love our enemies ( Matt. 5:44) and we should read the entire passage to meditate on how we pray for them who despitefully use you"; etc. We are aliens ( 1 Peter 2:11-12; see also 1 Chron. 29:15) and not of this world. We are truly born again and seated in heavenly places ( Eph. 2:6) and our treasure is now in heaven as well ( Matt. 6:20-21). We understand that we were saved as hopeless sinners and therefore serve as "unworthy servants" ( Luke 17:7-10). We still have peace that passes understanding (Phillipians 4:7); and is not of this world ( John 14:27).
With all this we have an understanding of how we have been called and chosen and predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son ( Romans 8:29).
We learn to love His ways and His Word; trusting God for the difficult and hard scriptures and sayings as well. A true believer is being transformed by the renewing of His mind ( Romans 12:2) and is concerned about the needs of others; particularly within the house of God. Hebrews 13 as well as Paul's example ( 2 Cor. 11:28) despite the persecutions he endured. We desire to grow and also must believe He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him ( Heb. 11:6). That means we also desire to win the prize of the high calling (Phillipians 3:14). Therefore those in Christ should be careful not to lose their reward ( Rev. 3:11).
All this being said; there are examples of those who think they are saved but are not; as well as those who make it into heaven but suffer loss. Evidence of fruit can be seen in time; and each of us are responsible to test ourselves to see if we are in the faith ( 2 Cor. 13:5). Seek and ye shall find ( Matt 7:7-8

The nation of Israel is a good example of this, too. At one time they were the people of God, a chosen nation, a royal priesthood, a peculiar people ( Ex. 19:6, Deut. 7:6, 10:15).
But due to their repeated idolatry and rebellion, even after the captivity in Assyria and Babylon, and then even more so in Jesus' day, the kingdom was taken from them and given to another people (the believers in Jesus). Romans speaks of the cultivated olive branch which represents Jesus as the holy root, and the Israelites as the branches. Paul speaks about the branches being broken off (unbelieving Jews) and the Gentile believers being ingrafted into the root (Jesus).
But is says that even if some of the branches were broken out because of unbelief and rejection of Jesus (Jews), some Jews who come to believe in Jesus can be grafted back in once again. This illustration never says that the whole nation of Israel is grafted back in, only those who truly return in repentance to God through Christ. These believing Jews then become a part of the holy nation, royal priesthood, peculiar people chosen of God (now the church of Jesus, which is the people that, were given the kingdom) ( 1 Peter 2:9).
Israel's selection by God and their subsequent rejection of Him and then being cast aside by God with God able to restore those who repent and return to Him in faith again, although very true and real, also is a type and shadow for those of the New Covenant who may fall away and wish to return to God through Christ. He will receive all who are contrite of heart, heavy laden with sin, and desiring to once again have fellowship restored with God in Christ. This is such wonderful news about the grace and mercy and desire of God to those who are to inherit the kingdom promised.
We are to put no confidence in the flesh, and our heart is wicked, and our mind is fixed on this life so often, all due to our sinful nature.
But praise the Lord, He has overcome all of what the sin has done to us and saved us from our own sin. We do not need to expect condemnation by God, NO! We receive mercy and grace and are made a new creation in our spirit. We can look to Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith. It all comes from Him!
We are so blessed, even in heavenly places where Jesus sits on His throne next the Father, reigning over all creation. We have come to Mt. Zion, the throne of grace in Christ. We can rejoice in God our Savior and give thanks to Him. We can give Him the honor due Him and focus our love on Him since He has done so to us first.
But in the all in all, it is God who wrought all of this in us, desiring since before creation to draw out of sinful humanity a redeemed people for Himself. And we are that people, the holy nation, royal priesthood, and a peculiar people, chosen from pre-creation to receive the Kingdom of heaven with God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit called to show forth His praises. ( 1 Peter 2:8-9) This was said of the people of Israel in the Old Testament,, but now in the New Testament it is said only of the redeemed in Christ. The OT people were a type and shadow of the people God would redeem.
It's thankworthy or commendable to endure injustice and suffering if you are doing right.
Such a backwards way of looking at things compared to the World's way of getting vengeance or 'social justice' now. This one will take a lot of practice and will need to trust the Lord that all justice will occur in the end.
The Lord along with at least 2 Apostles lived with an understanding of their time of death approaching (Paul after being warned what would come to pass in Jerusalem; and Peter after Christ's questioning his love for Him). There was always care to the disciples in the case of Christ; and the church in regard to Paul's ministry in particular but certainly Peter and others as well which superceded their own sufferings. This takes Spirit filled living of course; as well as loving our enemies ( Matt. 5:44). Jesus showed the ultimate example of concern at the cross (See John 19:26-27) when John brought Mary into his home (indicating; of course that Joseph had passed away by this point along with his absence in this passage).
Our natural inclination would be to react as Matthew 16:22 as Peter did to the thought of Christ going to the cross if we are honest. Good Friday is only good to us if we go beyond some ritual commemorating suffering without understanding His substitutionary death results in our atonement and ultimately commenced in victory at the Resurrection. This is how ugly our sins were and of course it demonstrates how we were yet sinners and Christ died for us; His enemies ( Romans 5:8). Christ; of course chose to do the Father's will; He was in one sense the victim of circumstances; but these were predestined to bring us to glory. The Father in Isaiah 53:10 was pleased to crush His Son; we cannot comprehend this as to the Godhead; or as to how great His love is for us.
Therefore let us commit our whole lives to patiently serving God; and believing that He is a rewarder of those who do good and diligently serve Him. ( Heb. 11:6). May we minister to the Body as we are all adopted sons; and no longer of this world. Isaiah 53:11 shows how Christ will enjoy the result of His suffering; Psalm 91:16 may apply to our future as well.
As you probably are aware; many elements of the Exodus are similar to what goes on during the Tribulation judgments; such as water being turned into blood andarkness being brought to part of the earth. The hardening of Pharoah is much like the Antichrist after he rids himself of the two witnesses (a bit like Moses and Aaron in their prophesying). We see the physical preservation of those that escape the "flood" that comes out of the mouth of the Beast ( Rev. 12:15)-called the serpent. Much like the Egyptians on their suicidal mission to get the Jews back we see Antichrist and his armies fighting Christ at His return ( Psalm 2). There are some who physically survive and thus; are judged as to whether they are true believers or just rebels from the remnant who haven't taken the mark of the Beast among the Jews; it would seem. It is a sobering thought that circumstances don't change sheep from goats; as we see another rebellion at the end of the Millenium after a world that is as close to Paradise as mortal man can experience.
On this day; of course we are reminded of Christ's sacrificial death; atonement and ultimate Resurrection defeating death and hell as a result of our sins which He took on when nailed to the cross. Isaiah 63:3 and many other passages demonstrate that the wrath of God must be satisfied either in His method of substitutionary sacrifice or in His wrath at Armageddon when He judges the world or at the death of all unregenerate individuals suffering their eternal fate separated from God in hell.
Let us live consistent with being a peculiar people ( 1 Peter 2:9); also referencing our priesthood (it is good to read the whole verse). The hidden inner man is what contrasts us from the rest of the world; not an outside veneer of religion.
All the previous section was focused on suffering for Christ's sake. Many today seem to forget the scriptures that state ALL who live Godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution ( 2 Tim. 3:12) and other verses stating that He "chastises all those He loves" ( Heb. 12:6). Those who aren't are said to be illegitimate children. In discerning truth from error; we see how few of the so called "prophets" today make such declarations as Agabus who predicted both imprisonment of Paul and a famine; or that of Christ to Peter on his eventual capture and implied martyrdom. ( John 21:18). We have had certain prominent individuals stating that another prominent one would suffer some malady because of the so called "not touching the anointed prophets" ( Psalm 105:15).
Again I will leave names out here; some things are just too ridiculous to get into anyway. What is certain is that bad news; whether that of the state of churches in Revelation 2; or that of the Prophets of old such as Isaiah; Ezekiel and Jeremiah who weren't exactly winning any popularity contests when time and time again they warned of judgment to come for specific sins is something heard very little today; and no wonder. Everyone wants their ears tickled with what they want to hear; what is the most popular or "politically correct" advice among the crowd of "professing" believers.
When the cure is worse than the disease; those who are of the truth will not be satisfied with a band-aid approach. This earth is not our home; and we should live this life accordingly.
Therefore; when we are in fellowship we should seek to be around those who are truly Spirit filled as well as run away from where the spirit of error is. We are to be "set apart" for His use ( 1 Thess. 4:7). What is refreshing in being hot or cold is that it alleviates any confusion or compromise of assimilation with those in the world ( 1 Peter 2:9-10).
That is wonderful. Let's not forget about those before Abraham. By faith they made sacrifice also.
All those sacrifices pointed forward to one who would come out of the loins of Abraham.
He would be a King and Priest after the order of Melchizedek. ( King of Salem) Christ has made us Kings and priests also!!
What's unique about that is under the Law, The Leviticus Priesthood couldn't hold the office of Kings and priests.
Only Melchizedek, Christ and the Church!! Revelation 1:5-6.
